A sign posted outside of the Corcoran describes renovation efforts that are taking place to restore the building’s marble façade
The sign uses a very nice calligraphic style font with long swashes, similar to Bickham Script,
- but I am not familiar with this font!

Corcoran bronze lions outside of the front entrance - one is the “awake lion”, the other the “sleeping lion,” signifying
art creation and art history. The lions have a dark green patina overtop the bronze.

Inside: A new exhibition by Elena del Rivero made from found objects, representing the concepts of change and chance, as seen
in the doorway from the bottom of the marble staircase, lined with marble statuary.

The lobby is painted red, and has a Greek frieze around one side of it just below the ceiling, seen at the left of this picture.

Inside the rotunda: a wall of paper and trash collected from 9/11 debris, by artist Elena del Rivero
attached to long strips of cloth suspended in the air. The paper exhibit blends nicely with the white/gray marble surrounding it,
with just a hint at pastel colors showing through the doorway.
